Savvas Liasis
Chairman
Savvas has more than 25 years of institutional investment experience and was the founder and CEO of EBI, based in London. EBI was one of the largest independent institutional electronic equity brokerages in Europe with a client base of 400 Institutional clients in over 30 countries. Savvas is a founding Partner of Elements Capital Partners and Chairman of the Board of Directors in ECM. He is a member of the Board of Directors of Famar, a leading European pharmaceutical CMO with manufacturing in Greece, Italy and Spain, and Chairman of Ygia Polyclinic, the largest private hospital of Cyprus. He has also served as a member of the Board of Directors of DDM Holdings AG, a publicly listed company specialized in the acquisition and management of distressed asset portfolios in Europe. Savvas graduated from Goldsmiths College, University of London and studied for his MSc in Investment Management at City University.

Ales has more than 20 years of work experience in the financial services industry. Prior to joining ECM as CEO, he served as CEO of one of the largest private investment companies in the Western Balkan region. Ales holds various board positions including BioRecell Ltd., a high-tech firm specializing in medical device development, Conexio Ltd., a telco infrastructure operator, and the European Investment Bank. He previously held management and governance positions in the Industrial Manufacturing, Telecommunication, Hospitality and Retail sectors. Ales holds a BA in International Finance from Point Loma University, San Diego, CA.

Chief Investment Officer
Dejan has over 20 years of professional experience in capital markets. For the last decade, he has served as the Chief Investment Officer and Board Member at ECM. Currently, he holds several board and chairs investment and audit committee positions in companies managed by ECM internationally. Prior to his current position, he served as a member of the Management Board in different retail asset management companies in Slovenia and Croatia. Dejan spent the early part of his career as a fund manager for one of the largest Slovenian asset management companies and has consecutively received several fund manager awards. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Ljubljana and is a holder of the CFA designation since 2010.

Chief Legal Officer
Andrej has over 15 years of work experience in the financial sector. Prior to joining ECM, he has served as a Deputy Director of the Security Market Agency for seven years. Before that, he worked as an associate attorney in a law firm, as a clerk on the appellate court, and as an editor on the Official Gazette of the Republic of Slovenia. In the period between 2016 and 2021 he served as member of the council of Slovenian Competition Protection Agency. He is currently Chief Legal and Compliance Officer and a member of the Board of Directors in ECM Partners. Andrej holds a Bachelor’s degree in Law from the University of Ljubljana and has passed his bar exam in 2006.

Nader graduated from the University of Manchester with a BSc in Management Sciences, specializing in Industrial Economics and Statistics. He has over 15 years of experience in the financial services industry, starting his career at Bank of America Merrill Lynch in credit derivates. After the crash of 2009, alongside founding a global executive search firm in London, he was heavily involved in Traydstream, a revolutionary start-up FinTech organization that is focused on digitization and automation of the trade finance industry. Nader joined ECM in December 2017 and formed the Croatian office in 2019. Nader holds several board positions in the real estate, hospitality and telecommunication sectors. Nader now focuses on business development and investor relations, leading key strategic partnerships across the business and splits his time between London, Zagreb and Athens.

Head of ECM Cyprus
Andreas has over 15 years of professional experience in the financial sector. He is heading ECM in Cyprus while he holds several board and management positions in companies managed by ECM ranging from the pharmaceutical to the real estate sector. Prior to his current position, he served as Chief Operations Officer at Elements Capital Partners, as a Corporate Finance Associate at Egnatia Securities, and as a Financial Analyst at GE Capital in London, Brussels, and Munich. He holds a BEng (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering at Imperial College, London, and an MBA from INSEAD (France & Singapore). Andreas holds the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) designation and is a holder of CySEC’s Advanced Certificate in Financial Services Regulatory Framework.

Robert leads our research and analytics department and has over 20 years of experience in the financial services and business advisory industry. Prior to joining ECM, he has previously worked at SKB Bank, a member of the Société Générale Group, and was a Director at KPMG, leading their business advisory and restructuring team. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Ljubljana. Robert holds several board positions. Robert has successfully led some of the largest regional restructuring cases as well as several major M&A procedures in the region.

Bor works for the investment team and heads up the asset management function for ECM. He has 15 years of experience in the financial services industry, having previously worked as a risk manager at Slovenian bank and as deputy head of restructuring at Bank Asset Management Company, working on restructuring for large clients prior to joining ECM. He holds a Master’s degree in Economics from the University of Ljubljana. Bor has successfully led some of the largest Slovenian restructuring cases as well as some major M&A procedures in Slovenia.

Grega has over 15 years of experience in the real estate industry. He also served as a bank consultant for the optimization and evaluation of real estate projects in Slovenia. Currently, Grega is a board advisor at Alpen Opportunity Property Fund. Grega holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Ljubljana.

Vesna leads our Investor Relations department and has over 10 years of experience in the financial services industry. Before joining ECM, she was an investment analyst at YIELCO Investments AG, a German Fund of Funds Manager for Alternative Investments. She also gained experience with J.P. Morgan, Zooplus AG, and a factoring company. Between 2008 and 2015, Vesna worked for the Slovenian partner of Dun & Bradstreet as a Financial Analyst. Vesna holds a University Degree in Economics from the Faculty of Economics in Ljubljana, an MBA from Frankfurt School of Finance and Management, and is a CFA Charterholder.

Lea has 6 years of experience working in financial advisory services. Prior to joining ECM, Lea has worked in Deloitte and PwC, where her work focused primarily on corporate finance advisory, including restructurings, M&A Advisory, business modeling, and M&A tax structuring. She has been involved in a wide range of projects, assisting clients from different sectors across the Adriatic region. Lea finished International Full Time Master Programme in Business and Organisation Programme (IMB) at the Faculty of Economics in Ljubljana, specializing in Finance.

Previously she spent almost 8 years with the Bank Asset Management Company, where she was working as a lawyer managing and selling receivables and equity investments. Before that, she also worked at the Carmen Dobnik & Attorneys Law Office, Sparkasse bank d.d. and at the Law office Filipov Ltd. ‐ Schönherr. Jasna holds a Bachelor's degree in Law from the University of Ljubljana.

Tina has over 20 years of experience in Back Office functions. She is responsible for managing communication with the trustee and asset manager of investment funds, assists with control of alternative investment fund data, reports to external institutions, manages the company's payment transactions, performs bookkeeping and accounting functions, and manages personnel records. Prior to ECM, she has served as an accounting support specialist at Alpen Invest, Ltd. Before that, she worked as a Backoffice manager at AC-Brokerage House, Ltd. She holds a college education as a Business Secretary from the College of Professional Studies DOBA, Maribor.

Executive Secretary
Eva joined us as Executive Secretary in 2016. Since 2020 she is also the Head of Backoffice in a compulsory settlement of the company Delo Prodaja. Previously, she worked in administrative support to the management and employees in TSC Laba for 6 years. Eva completed her studies at the Secondary School of Economics Ljubljana, Roška, and is enrolled in Entrepreneurship and International Business at Erudio Business School in Ljubljana.

Anze joined us as a Junior Analyst in Q2 2021. Previously, he worked as a Financial Analyst in BV Finance Group, where his work focused primarily on financial advisory, where he was predominantly responsible for valuation models as well as on calculations of projects economics. Anze also completed an internship with ECM Partners in the period of 2017-2018, during that time he finished his BSc. and Master’s degree specializing in finance both at the Faculty of Economics, University of Ljubljana.

Managing director - Portfolio acquisitions
Franci brings over 18 years of professional experience in capital markets, the banking sector, and financial advisory services. Before joining ECM, he worked at a brokerage house, an asset management company, a pension fund, the Bank of Slovenia, PwC, and two Slovenian banks. During 2012-2015, Franci played a key role in restructuring the Slovenian banking system and developing the legal restructuring framework. At PwC, he led several major Slovenian M&A transactions (both buy-side and sell-side), NPL and real estate portfolio disposals, and restructuring projects. Franci also has extensive experience in banking sector risk management. He holds a Master’s degree in Econometrics from the Faculty of Management in Koper and is a certified Financial Risk Manager (FRM).

Ziga joined the firm in March 2022 and has 7 years of experience in the financial services industry, having previously worked at Slovenian savings bank Hranilnica Lon as a credit risk specialist where he was predominantly responsible for performing credit rating and business analyses as well as second-level financing decision-making process. Prior to that, he spent four years with PwC where his work primarily focused on corporate finance advisory, namely M&A advisory in sell-side mandates, business modelling and due diligence of companies predominantly operating in the SEE and CEE regions. Ziga completed the BSc. in Bank & Financial Management and International Master in Business and Organization, specializing in Finance, both at the Faculty of Economics, University of Ljubljana.

Portfolio Manager
Michalis joined ECM in September 2022 as Portfolio Manager and is responsible for the origination and execution of investments and asset management of portfolio companies. He has over 10 years of experience in investments, including in the acquisition, divestment, refinancing and asset management of real assets. Prior to ECM Partners, Michalis worked in infrastructure private equity in London, covering the energy, infrastructure and utilities sectors in Europe. Key sector experience during this time included transactions in regulated utilities, renewables, power stations, water utilities and desalination plants, airports, toll roads, energy from waste and waste management, telecommunications, healthcare, aviation and public-private partnerships. Michalis holds an MSc in Finance and Economics from the London School of Economics and is also an ACA and CFA charterholder.

Kruno has a Master's degree in Economics from the Faculty of Economics from the University of Zagreb and is currently in the process of obtaining his CFA ESG investment certificication. Kruno has over 15 years of experience in banking, financial advisory services and real estate acquisitions. Prior to joining ECM, where he will be leading the development of deals in the Croatian and Serbian markets, he was the Country head of Croatia and Serbia for the Indotek Group where he was involved in the acquisition of one of the largest commercial real estate portfolios in the region to date.

Josephine first joined the firm as Executive Secretary in 2015 and serves as Head Administrator since 2023. Known for operations optimisation and intricate travel management, she facilitates vital communications between stakeholders across the firm’s value chain. She has a strong professional background in several Operations and Sales positions in Cyprus and the UK in the telecoms, real estate, media, and legal technology sectors. Josephine is studying towards an MBA at the University of Cyprus (exp. 2025) and is also a holder of a BA in English Language and Literature from the same institution.

Elina holds a BSc in Mathematics from Imperial College London, an MSc in Financial Mathematics from City University London, and is a certified CFA charterholder.

He has been involved in a wide range of projects, assisting clients from different sectors in Cyprus, Greece and abroad. Christos holds a BSc in Accounting and Finance from Warwick Business School and is an associate chartered accountant of ICAEW and ICPAC.

There, Fati acquired expertise in transaction diligence and M&A advisory, working on projects that spanned multiple industries across the CEE region. With a master’s degree in financial management (IMB Programme) from the School of Economics and Business in Ljubljana, earned with distinction, Fati is now a PhD candidate in Economics.
